Reading and Managing Email Messages in Clolytic Webmail

Clolytic Webmail offers an intuitive and responsive interface for handling your day-to-day business correspondence. From advanced email viewing modes to versatile multi-window composition tools, the platform ensures seamless tracking and management of your digital communications.

Reading an Email Message

To access your correspondence, navigate to the sidebar and select the folder where your target message is located. Click on any message within the list to view its contents. The reading experience supports the following operational parameters:

  • Conversation Threading: If the option "Show messages as conversations" is activated, messages belonging to a single thread are grouped under the most recent email. Click on the indicated number of messages to expand or hide the thread.
  • Bulk Actions on Threads: When conversation grouping is active, actions performed on a compacted conversation apply to all emails within that thread. To act on a single message, expand the conversation first and select the specific email.

The Advanced Composition Window

Clolytic Webmail features a dynamic layout for drafting emails, allowing you to open up to 5 concurrent composition windows or switch to a full-screen Focus mode. Managing your active drafts includes these capabilities:

  1. Resizing and Positioning: Customize your workspace by dragging the window borders to resize them, or drag the top black bar to reposition the window anywhere on your screen.
  2. Window Restoration: Click on the Restore Window icon at any time to return the composition window to its default size and position.
  3. Draft Minimization: Click Minimize Window to move your active drafts into a small box at the bottom of the page. Clicking this box displays a summary list of up to 5 minimized compositions.

Each minimized item in the summary box displays the message subject, the recipients (showing the email address for new contacts or the saved name for address book contacts), and a short text preview.

Writing and Sending a New Email Message

To initiate a new message, click the New Message button or icon located in your sidebar. Fill in the required fields (recipient, subject, and text body) and click Send. The sending process supports the following advanced features:

  • Identity Management: Click on the From field to select an alternative sending identity. This feature is available only if one or more email aliases have been associated with your Clolytic account.
  • Recipient Drag-and-Drop: You can quickly rearrange your target addresses by clicking and dragging them dynamically between the To, Cc, and Bcc fields.
  • Draft Preservation: While Clolytic Webmail automatically saves your work at regular intervals, you can manually save a draft by clicking the Save icon at the bottom of the window or selecting the save option upon closing.
  • Attachment Handling: Click the Attachments icon at the bottom of the window to browse files, or drag them directly into the composition space. The platform supports attachments up to a maximum total size of 50MB.

Additional options located at the bottom of the message window allow you to toggle High Priority, request a Confirmation of Reading or Confirmation of Delivery, and switch your editor into Simple Text Mode (.txt).

Replying to and Forwarding Correspondence

To respond to an incoming message, select the email and click the appropriate action icon from the toolbar. When replying, Clolytic Webmail automatically matches and selects your correct sending identity based on the specific address that received the email.

The platform offers four distinct pathways for responding to a message:

  1. Reply: Opens a composition window with the "To" field pre-filled with the original sender's email address.
  2. Reply to All: Opens a draft with both the "To" and "Cc" fields populated with the sender and all other recipients included in the original message.
  3. Forward: Directs the full content of the selected message into the body of a new email for distribution to a new recipient.
  4. Quick Answers: Generates an instant, predefined thank-you response sent directly to the original sender.

Alternatively, you can access all Reply and Forward actions by right-clicking any message directly within the email folder list.

Comprehensive Actions on Email Messages

Manage your folder organization and message states by selecting an email and clicking the corresponding toolbar icon, or by right-clicking the message list. The available actions provide total control over your data:

  • Tag & Label: Mark prominent messages as favorites using the Tag tool, or apply custom organizational categories using the Label tool (available once at least one label is created).
  • Folder Management: Use Move To or Copy To to organize files across your directory tree, or select Archive to send messages to your long-term Archive folder.
  • Security & Maintenance: Click Delete to remove an item, Mark as Spam to filter junk mail to the Spam folder, or Mark as Not Spam to restore legitimate emails back to your Inbox.
  • Productivity Tools: Use Create Task to build actionable to-do items directly from email text, or click Print for local physical copies.
  • Read States: Toggle your messages manually between Mark as Read or Mark as Unread to keep track of your pending workflow.
  • Advanced Developer Options: Select Show as Source to review the raw underlying code of an email, click Download to save the message locally in EML format, use Forward as an Attachment to wrap the email into a new EML attachment, or select Modify as New to pre-fill a fresh composition layout using the fields of the selected message.
