Introduction

The first AWS ESC region in Brandenburg is scheduled to go live by the end of 2025.

ESC is built on the same technical foundation as standard AWS, allowing existing workloads to be transferred without changes to tools, interfaces, or processes. ESC leverages the proven AWS Nitro architecture, ensuring strict logical separation between customer data and the host system. AWS has no access to customer data. Multi-layer encryption, tamper-resistant design, and organizational controls provide exceptionally high security – mandatory for operators of critical infrastructure.

Long-Term Commitment to Europe

AWS plans to invest approximately €7.8 billion in the development and operation of ESC through 2040, including new data centers and cloud technology training programs. Customers will benefit from the same security, availability, and performance they are accustomed to from existing AWS regions.
